A Lot Of Things Happened This Week!

May 25, 2015

Dear Family & Friends,

This week was awesome! A lot of things happened this week.

Our investigators are doing great still. We are trying really hard to get them to be baptized. We have so many cool people we are teaching and who are ready they just are being stubborn about accepting a date and just doing it. Hopefully soon we can get them to receive that confirmation from Heavenly Father that it is time to make this step in their lives.

Earlier this week I did an ice cream eating challenge against Elder Saia. We both put down a half a gallon. I finished first though so that's all that matters ;) Vale la pena (Worth it).

We had a really good family home evening with Zaira, Eloisa, and Flora on Thursday. We watched the movie the testaments. It was funny Zairas son Ethan was just leaning back kicking his feet up on the chair. It was so funny. They all really liked it. We tried ending the lesson with our testimonies but Ethan started crying and it was really distracting so we just kind of ended the lesson. We are going to see them this week and try to get them back on date for June.
Angelica Baptism for Sisters
I got to baptize one of the Sisters investigators named Angelica. I gave her the baptismal interview and after she told the sisters that she wanted me to baptize her. It was a really cool experience! She was nervous that she was going to slip and fall and also that the mirror above the font was going to fall down. Hah, we reassured her that it wouldn't. After the baptism she was smiling from ear to ear! It was so cool. And her family was really happy too! Hopefully they follow her example too.

We have been biking a lot and seeing lots of miracles happen from it. I love being able to stop and talk to people in the streets. We have had some pretty crazy things happen. The other day we contacted a guy picking up his mail. His name was Jesus. He invited us into his house and gave us some water. Then we got talking about the plan of salvation and turns out he is a really cool guy and he invited us to come back next week. We have a really good feeling about him and his family.

Anyway everything is going good here in Sacramento.

Love you all!!!

Six Months Out In The Mission Tomorrow!! Crazy Hah

Finally home after a long day.
May 18, 2015

Hey Everyone!!

Six months out in the mission tomorrow!! Crazy hah. Only have a sister mission left :/ Can't believe how time is just cruising by.

It was a really good week this week! We had a lot of cool experiences. One of the coolest thing happened on Saturday night. Elder Tena and I took the bikes out. We met a lot of really cool people. The day was kind of winding down and we had about an hour until we had a dinner appointment. We pulled up to a stoplight and had two options. We could go straight or turn. We decided we needed to go straight still. Then a little ways down the road we ran into Elder Jeffs and Elder Finau. We talked to them for just a second and then headed on down the road. We turned and we rode up to a stop sign right as another car was also. A younger guy in the car saw us and called us over. He was Spanish and he was having some big problems with his family. He was crying and really opened up to us. We shared a quick message with him and he was so grateful he ran into us. We are going to meet with him on Tuesday night. It was so cool to see how the Lord guided us to him. If we would've took a different turn or not stopped to talk to the Elders for just that amount of time, we would've missed him.

I had the opportunity to do a baptismal interview the other day. It was so cool. I see why everyone says that is one of their favorite things to do out here. Just to get to talk with someone and see the testimony that they have. It is incredible. Can't wait to do it again!
We are getting ready to bring iPads into the mission so we have another big mission wide conference coming up soon. Mission wide conferences like never happen and in my first 6 months I am going to have gone to two of them.

We are working really hard and finding, finding, finding. Just gotta find the ones that are ready.

Love you all!!

This Week Was Awesome!!

May 11, 2015
My new comp Elder Tena
Dear Family & Friends,

This week was awesome!! Going to be a short email, hah.

My new comp is awesome! Elder Tena from Los Angeles, CA. He has been out the one transfer ahead of me. He is a great missionary and we are going to have a great transfer!

I had a new leadership meeting this week. It was so good! We focused on a talk called Jesus: The Perfect Leader, by Spencer W. Kimball. Basically it just talks about how Jesus Christ was the perfect example of a leader. He led by example, he loved those he served, and he was quick to fix problems that needed fixing. I learned so much. Basically the main thing was that if I love and serve everyone I will succeed as a missionary and as a leader.  We have a lot of good things happening here. Can't wait to see what happens here in the next couple weeks. Got to talk to my family yesterday too! That was awesome! Hah, great mothers day.

Sorry not much this week.

Love you all!!

Transfer Week!!!

May 5, 2015

The New District Leader
Dear Family & Friends,

It was a great week. Transfers always make it crazy but it was still an amazing week. We got our calls last night and I am staying here in North Sacramento. My new companion will be Elder Tena. I haven't met him yet so I will tell you more about him next week. And some more news, I am going to be a District Leader here. So I am really excited. This will be a big change hah. Going to learn a lot through these next couple months.

It was an awesome week for our investigators this week too! We had zone training on inspired planning and we actually planned out our lesson for Eloisa, Zaira, and Flora there. And then went out and used it the same day. We felt prompted to teach them about fasting and invite them to be baptized on the 30th of May. They said they would pray and think about the date. Which is better then the last answer we got when we asked them. Then they came to church on Sunday and it was a great fast and testimony meeting. Zaira loved when the little kids go up to share their testimony. Yesterday we had a family home evening with them. They are awesome! They told us we are part of their family now and we can come see them whenever we want hah. We have dinner with them tonight so we are going to follow up on the baptismal date. Wish us luck!

Love you all!
